Supporting Local Teams
We Care Eye Care was developed by Revelstoke Optometry Centre and is affiliated through Community Connections. We wanted to create a program to provide Revelstoke locals with low income a subsidized program dedicated to aid in providing eyecare and glasses when there are no additional insurance or government programs. Bausch & Lomb started Canada's first contact lens recycling program called Every Contact Counts. We recycle all extra contacts in office and you can collect your discarded lenses and bring them to the office to recycle!

Through TerraCycle's Zero Waste Box program, our office is able to recycle single-use personal protective equipment, from masks to gloves.
PPE Recycling
When you bring in old lenses, or we are disposing of old lenses in the office, we ensure that they are recycled properly by sending them back to the manufacturer.

We have gone paperless!
Revelstoke Optometry has embraced a transformative shift towards sustainability by adopting paperless charting for patients health records. All health records are now digitally managed and updated on computers so we've drastically reduced our paper consumption! This initiative not only enhances efficiency and accuracy but also emphasizes our commitment to eco-friendly practices, ensuring a greener future for generations to come.
Join us in making a difference! At Revelstoke Optometry Centre, we accept used eyeglass donations to support the Lion's Club Recycle for Sight program. When you donate your old frames, you're helping to provide the gift of sight to those in need. Since 1925, Lion's International has been served and advocated for the blind and visually impaired. Their continuing objective is to prevent avoidable blindness and improve quality of life for people who are blind or visually impaired.

World Sight Day
Every year the Revelstoke Optometry Centre raises money for World Sight Day. A donation jar can often be found in the clinic to support the cause. World Sight Day focuses on the importance of eye health in young people, ensuring that every child's eye care is accessible, available and affordable. They campaign to ensure that children understand the importance of eye care and that governments recognise the importance of early intervention and regular eye health assessments are critical to unlocking education opportunities!
RCSA Medical Transportation Program
In honour of Dr. Ayles' 10 Year Anniversary, our clinic was proud to contribute to the Seniors Medical Transportation Program by donating a portion of the proceeds from each pair of glasses purchased in-office for the month of July. This important initiative helps ensure that seniors can easily get to their optometry appointments and other essential services, significantly enhancing their mobility and independence.
